Pauline Therese Ulland of Lakehurst, age 88, passed away February 8 following a short illness. She was surrounded by her children. Born Pauline Berntsen June 12, 1924 in Brooklyn, NY, she moved with her family to Lista, Norway where she was raised on the family farm. Pauline married Sigvald Olav Ulland in September of 1945. They moved their family to Brokklyn NY in 1955 and later to Highlands Lakes NJ in 1969. She moved to her Cedar Glen West Home in Lakehurst in 1978 where she remained until her passing. Pauline, who is known to her grandchildren and great grandchildren as Mormor, was beloved by and in turn, greatly loved her family, and was especially happy when spending time with them. Pauline was a wonderful homemaker and loved to bake, specializing in Norwegian treats, the tradition which has been handed now to her granddaughters.
Pauline is predeceased by her beloved Sigvald in 1976, and dear brother Bernt Berntsen, in 1997. She is survived by her children; son Aage Ulland and his wife Audrey of Brick, NJ; daughter Sissel Hansen and her husband Gordon in Sarpsborg,, Norway; and son Dennis Ulland and his wife Michelle of Montague, NJ; her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren, Frank Gordon Ulland, his wife Hanne, and their daughters Therese and Eline of Sarpsborg, Norway; Kenneth Gordon Ulland, his wife Silje, son Henrik, daughters Nora and Ingrid also of Sarpsborg; Stacy Ann Ulland Riethmiller and her husband Paul, and their sons Ryan and Kevin, of Centerville, VA; Aage Jeffrey Ulland of Point Pleasant, NJ; Megan Elaine Ulland and her fiancé Chad Helgerson of Hoboken, NJ, and Dennis Ulland Jr. of Sussex, NJ; brother Fred Berntsen and his wife Jenny of Marcella, NJ; and sister Julia Huseby of Norway. Pauline also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins.
It is Pauline's' wish that a private family service be held.
Donations can be made to the Manchester First Aid Squad, 29 South Colonial Drive, Manchester, NJ 08759, in her name. Arrangements were being handled by Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, Manchester, NJ.
