Mr. Percy Lee Crain, Jr. "Sweet J"
Percy Lee Crain Jr was born on July 9, 1947, in Riverside, Ca. He was the third of six children born to Percy and Jewellean Crain.
Percy graduated from Ramona High school in Riverside. He would later marry Elizabeth Marbley, and from this union, they had one child Jewelleana Jones of Madison, Alabama. Years later they departed but remained good friends. In 1972 Percy followed in his father's footsteps and joined the United States Army where he served his country for 20 years. In 1980, he was blessed again with a second child Ronada Bowick of Rochester, NY.
Once retired Percy known as Sweet J from LA returned home to Riverside where he went to work for Michaels House in Palms, Springs. He would also retire from here after more than 17 years of service doing what he loved most cooking.
Percy departed this life surrounded by those who loved him on Thursday, September 7, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents Percy and Jewellean as well as three of his brothers Carl, Bobbie Ray, and Bernard Crain.
He leaves behind with sadden hearts, but loving memories: A family who celebrates his life and his legacy; Jewelleana Jones, Daughter, Merwin Jones, Son-in-law, Ronada Bowick, Daughter, four grandchildren De'Lano Crain, Quinton Jones, R'mani Davis and Dallas Caesar. Along with four great-grandchildren;Laila, De'Lano, Jr., Aiden and Ryleigh Crain. Percy also leaves behind a brother Urel Crain, and Sister, Kwan Crain, a sister-in-law Janet Crain, a niece and Nephews Nicole, Carl, and Michael who he had the great honor of caring for with a host of relatives and friends.
