Perry Ward Baker, age 59, died Wednesday January 10th at the Madison County Nursing Home after a battle with abdominal cancer. Perry lived most of his life in Sherman, MS and regularly attended and loved the people of Sherman Baptist Church. A special person who never met a stranger, Perry lit up the room with his outgoing personality.
Perry loved the Ole Miss Rebels, the St. Louis Cardinals, gospel music and his dog Sugar.
One of his favorite questions was "when are y'all going to come see us?"
Perry is survived by his mother, Wilma Baker, his brother Rex Baker and sister-in-law Carol Baker of Brandon, MS, and his beloved nieces, Hillary Mattei of Baton Rouge, LA and Rachel Baker of Brandon, MS.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 13th at 2 p.m. at Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc with visitation on Friday, January 12th from 5-7 p.m.
Perry was preceded in death by his father, Alvis W. Baker.
