Obituary

Perry Milton Allard a long time resident of Boring, Oregon, died on March 13, 2010 in Portland. He was 88 years of age. Perry was born on December 21, 1921 in Republic, Washington and he was the son of William and Birdie (Phiffer) Allard. He attended various schools throughout Portland and graduated from Benson High School in 1940. Following graduation, Perry enlisted in the United States Navy and honorable served his country during WWII. He received an honorable discharge on January 15, 1952 after 11 years of service. Perry Milton Allard a long time resident of Boring, Oregon, died on March 13, 2010 in Portland. He was 88 years of age.

Perry was born on December 21, 1921 in Republic, Washington and he was the son of William and Birdie (Phiffer) Allard. He attended various schools throughout Portland and graduated from Benson High School in 1940.

Following graduation, Perry enlisted in the United States Navy and honorable served his country during WWII. He received an honorable discharge on January 15, 1952 after 11 years of service.

Perry worked as a pattern maker for various companies at first but found permanent employment at Northwest Pattern Shop. He retired in 1991 after 20 years of employment.

On January 1, 1947, he married Rose Clark in Portland, Oregon. They resided in Portland for a while and moved to Boring/Damascus where they have lived for the past 33 years.

Perry had many hobbies. He was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He was very active and good with wood working and home improvement projects. He was kind and devoted family members. He loved music and dancing and also liked to play poker with his family and friends. He was a member of the American Legion Post #1 and the Oregon Bow Hunter's Association.

Perry is survived by his wife, Rose of Damascus, sons, William Allard of Florida and Lance D. Allard of Oregon, daughter, Penny Parsons of Clackamas along with 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. His brother, Vincent Allard and sister, Blanche Kness both preceded him in death.

A graveside service with military honors will be on Monday, April 5, 2010 at 1:00 pm at Willamette National Cemetery. A reception will follow at the American Legion Post # 1 at 2:00 pm. Contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Bateman Carroll Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
