Pete was only known to me through several gun-related boards, but I considered him one of my best friends. I'm truly sorry I never got to meet him in person, but I'll treasure all the "time" we spend together.

When I first met Pete I was just 22 years old and in Navy flight training in Pensacola. It is where I met the love of my life his sister Heather and the reason for meeting Pete. Pete was just fifteen years old. We hit is off right away-he liked cars, I liked cars and we talked cars-and girls. The fact that I was driving a 1967 Firebird 400 muscle car I’m sure helped make a good impression.
Over the years we shared interests in cars and aviation. We respected each other greatly for our military service and the values we shared for our military and our country.
We were able to get together fairly often when he was stationed at Fort Lewis, but not often enough. He always kidded me about flying fixed wing, that helos were the only way to fly. Once, I took him for a flight in my little two seat Swift airplane. Right after take off the side window started to pop out. We were very low and trying to fly slow in order to keep the window in, but it popped out anyway. I put the power on and climbed up to go back to the airport. After landing I said “Well, that was a thrill!” Pete said “No big deal, I fly low and slow all the time!” Whenever we got together since, Pete would get a twinkle in his eye and say, “Remember that time in the Swift?”
We felt a kinship from the beginning that went well beyond being brothers-in-law. Your leaving us came way too soon, Pete. I was so looking forward to be able to spend more time with you to teach me to fish, to shoot, to talk car and planes, and just hang out. I am so glad we got to have Christmas 2010 together. I know you are in the best possible place now and will be watching over us until we meet again. I have a feeling that every time I look toward the heavens I will hear your voice in my head “Remember that time….?” I love you and miss you my brother!

Pete, I can remember the very first day I arrived to the unit in Finthen Army Airfield, Mainz, Germany back on Jan 7th, 1985. I was fresh out of my job training and you were the first person to welcome me to the unit and introduce yourself as my new Platoon Sergeant. You gave me a great warm welcome to the shop and explained what my responsibilities were and took care of everyone. There was no favoritism in our group, you treated us all the same and we looked up to you as a "newly" appointed father figure. It wasn't until many years later after I retired from the Army, that you found me on the internet. We shared our life history since my departure in Dec 1987 and caught up on the good time. There hasn't been a day that has gone by where I have looked back on the leadership guidance you instilled in. Who would have guessed that I followed in your footsteps and stayed in for 22 years working on our beloved helicopters. Had I known that you lived in Killeen when I was stationed at Ft. Polk, LA, I would have stopped by to see you in my many travels to Dallas area. Seems like the clock stopped, but one day we will meet again. Take care and see you on the other side.

From one 2nd Armored Calvary Regiment Trooper to another... I'll see you at Fiddler's Green. Toujours Pret / Always Ready!

Pete was my friend. For over 25 years you lifted my spirits, gave sound advice, and filled my heart with laughter and joy. While I know you are with the Lord our God in heaven, my heart still selfishly hurts. I will miss our talks about motorcycles, guns, and Texas. Dianna, I will stay in touch for you are a part of my life because of Pete. Thank you God for putting Pete in my life. God Bless you Pete

Pete, I miss you so much. As kids growing up we sure got into our share of mischief, but hey, isn’t that what kids are suppose to do? I will be eternally grateful for the time we’ve had together. You were the sweetest – cutest kid a sister could ever have. Even though we didn’t know just how sick you were, we got to have Christmas 2010 together. What a great memory that is! You had our dad’s sense of humor and that twinkle in your eye I will always remember. I know you know just how much I’ve always loved you. You are and will always be in my heart and mind every day. I know that you are in a better place, one without pain and suffering. You were so brave, so strong through it all. I know also that you are up there with Dad, Papa & Nana – enjoying fishing at Brome Lake.
Thank you for your service and protection of this country and for being the best soldier. I’m so proud of you Pete, your kindness, honesty, dedication, devotion, love and protection of your family. I miss you, Pete, more than words can say and I know that God needed you in heaven. I just wish it hadn’t been so soon. I will see you again, and I know that you’re watching over your loved ones. I love you my sweet brother, the world has lost a very special man and hero - The photo is one you said you really liked so I thought it would be a good one to share with famiy and friends. Love Always, Heather

Pete is an awesome guy that I counted as a friend even though we had never met face to face. I met Pete online back in 2003 on Paco Kelly's Leverguns forum. We shared a love of hog hunting, and old military rifles and his posts were always informative and interesting. He is missed by all us oldtimers in the leverguns forum who knew him well. Farewell my friend, rest peacefully. Aloha a hui hou.

Pete, you'll be deeply missed! Your sense of humor and love for others can never be replaced. You treated me like a brother, and greatly entriched my life for which I'm so greatly grateful. This O'l Iowan will always honor your memory, you'll always be remembered - especially during those quiet moments in a deer stand waiting for that monster buck to emerge. This isn't goodbye, because our destiny is with the same true messiah - Jesus Christ. GodBless ya Pete, Mark
