Pastor Peter Read, 82, of Ooltewah, Tennessee, passed away, Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at his residence.
He was born July 15, 1934 to the late Kate and Ernest Charles Read in Watford, England.
Peter attended Newbold College graduating with his ministerial diploma in 1954 and later graduated with a BA in Religion from Southern Missionary College in 1955.
He was a pastor for the Seventh-day Adventist Church and his pastoral duties began in Canada then to England and later to Dayton, Ohio in 1968 and to Tennessee in 1981.
Peter loved the outdoors and was passionate about gardening. He was also an avid collector of model trains.
He is survived by his loving wife, Fay Hanna, three daughters, Kathy (Norman) Brooks, of Ooltewah, TN, Cheryl (Tim) Eberhardt, of Ukiah, CA, Magen (Soua) Vang, of Florence, KY, two grandchildren, Chrissy (Josh) Parson, Peter Eberhardt, one great-grandson, Azariah Joe and numerous extended family relatives in England and the US.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 pm, Saturday, December 3rd, at Chattanooga First Seventh-day Adventist Church, 7450 Standifer Gap Road, Chattanooga, Tennessee, with Pastor Dale Tunnell officiating. Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, December 4th, in Collegedale Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 pm, Saturday, December 3rd, at the church.

So sorry I didn't know of Pastor Reads passing. Our family thought a lot of him and he will be greatly missed. He was a kind caring and wonderful messenger of our Lord and Savior.
