Peter B. Acton, 73, of Mesa, AZ, formerly of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2011. Pete was born in Sterling IL to the late H. Lyle and Bernice J. Acton. He was a graduate of Westview High School, class of 1956 and a 1959 graduate of the Culinary Institute of America. Pete was employed by H.J. Heinz company in 1959 where he was a research and developmental Chef working out of Venezuela, SA., where he met his beloved wife of 47 years Beatriz Hernandez, living there, Mexico, Pittsburgh, and Minneapolis. He retired from Heinz in 1996, and finally ended up, near his family, in Mesa, AZ. He is survived by his wife Beatriz Hernandez Acton, his only daughter Margaret Sandberg, son-in-law Erlend, three granddaughters, Kaileigh, Kaja, and Melanie. He is also survived by his sister Bonnie Moccio and brother Arthur J. Acton, numerous sisters & brother-in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was, throughout his life, an avid numismatist active in many clubs and assoc. in Pittsburgh and Phoenix. Peter can best be remembered by his devotion to his family and being his granddaughter's biggest fan in all of their chosen endeavors. He was a gregarious kind man with a generous heart. There will be a Memorial Service, 5:00 p.m. Saturday June 11, 2011 at Mariposa Gardens Cemetery Chapel 6747 E. Broadway Road, Mesa, Arizona. Que linda manera de recordar a Peter viendo tan lindas fotos y leyendo lindos mensajes con amor y carino hacia Peter y ustedes; esto es realmente lo unico que ayuda a aminorar el dolor de su ausencia fisica. Peter siempre estara en mi corazon y el de Bill como un gran y especial amigo. Su sonrisa, su generosidad, su buen caracter, y su conocimiento en tantos temas que siempre uso para compartir con los demas.
