Peter M. Alessi, 67, of Eastham, passed away after a sudden fall while out on his brisk daily walk. Adoring and adored father of Kelley Hippler of Sharon, MA, and Jennifer Alessi-McGinley, of Los Angeles, CA, "Grumps" is also survived by his grandsons Tyler and William Hippler; sons-in-law Thomas Hippler and Lawrence McGinley; best friend and former wife Lorraine Kelley-Alessi; and beloved partner Teresa MacInnes. "Pete" remains cherished by his sisters Brenda Alessi Brooks and Jane Alessi-DeVito; sister-in-law Kathy Henehan and brother-in-law Thomas Henehan; his spirited nieces and nephews; dog Hooligan; and by a dear, diverse, and wonderful circle of friends.

Proud graduate of Archbishop Williams High School and Northeastern University, Peter was raised in Hyde Park and later worked as COO for a retail chain, Thayer Pharmacy. A man who understood the values of joy and reflection, Peter retired at forty-eight then devoted his time to family, friends, charity and spirituality. His dependability, sense of fairness, outrageous humor, and generosity helped make Peter an irreplaceable presence in so many lives. His loving influence is far-reaching, and he will be terribly missed.

To honor his life, family and friends are invited to an informal (sandals and sneakers) remembrance at First Encounter Beach, Eastham, at 6 p.m. on August 14, followed by a celebration of his distinct and lively soul. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lower Cape Outreach Council/Santa's Stop, P.O. Box 665, Orleans, MA 02653 or Gotta Have Sole Foundation, Inc., 39 East Bel Air Road, Cranston, RI 02920. For online condolences, please visit www.nickersonfunerals.com
