Peter Robert Barone, 87, of Homosassa, FL died Saturday, April 24, 2010 in Homosassa. Born May 27, 1922 in Harvey, LA to the late Cosimo and Anna (Micele) Barone and moved to this area 6 years ago from Toms River, NJ. Peter was a retired fireman for the City of Newark, NJ and a Navy veteran of WWII. A member of St Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church of Homosassa, VFW Post 8189, and a Third Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus Council No. 6954 He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years Marie Barone, July 19, 2008. Peter Robert Barone, 87, of Homosassa, FL died Saturday, April 24, 2010 in Homosassa. Born May 27, 1922 in Harvey, LA to the late Cosimo and Anna (Micele) Barone and moved to this area 6 years ago from Toms River, NJ. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years Marie Barone, July 19, 2008.
Survived by his daughter, Judy Powers and her husband Donn of Homosassa; granddaughter, Susan Collins and her husband Michael of Brooklyn, NY; 2 great-granddaughters, Olivia and Isabella Collins of Brooklyn.
Family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p. m., Tuesday, April 27, at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa Springs, a Wake service will be held at 6 p.m.. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a. m., Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at St Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church with Fr. Ronald Marecki celebrant. Interment will follow at Fero Memorial Gardens, Beverly Hills, FL. Condolence may be given at www.wilderfuneral.com.
