Peter Jerome Havel January 5, 1937 – March 18, 2012 Peter Jerome Havel, 75, a resident of both Framingham, MA and Frisco, TX, passed away after a brief illness in Houston, TX on March 18. Havel, a graduate of Lehigh University, U.S. Army veteran, life-long fan of the New York Yankees and Giants, and devoted member of the Metrowest YMCA Tsunami Masters swim team, was born on January 5, 1937 in Astoria Queens, NY, but spent his adult life in the greater Boston area as a business owner and family man. Peter Jerome Havel, 75, a resident of both Framingham, MA and Frisco, TX, passed away after a brief illness in Houston, TX on March 18.

Havel, a graduate of Lehigh University, U.S. Army veteran, life-long fan of the New York Yankees and Giants, and devoted member of the Metrowest YMCA Tsunami Masters swim team, was born on January 5, 1937 in Astoria Queens, NY, but spent his adult life in the greater Boston area as a business owner and family man. He was the President and co-owner of Liberty Architectural Sales of Hollis, NH from 1985 to 2003 and remained with Kamco Supply of New England, which purchased his company, until the time of his passing. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Sudbury most recently and also attended Chapel of the Cross Church of Southboro, MA. His life-long passion for cooking will continue to be shared by his entire family.

He leaves his wife Jeanne S. Havel (Frisco, TX), daughter, son-in-law and grandson, Mary, Stephen and Connor Altman (Jacksonville, FL), daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter Anne, Keith and Brianna Kirkman (Kingwood, TX), and son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter Peter, Janie and Reagan Havel (Dallas, TX). In addition, he will be missed by cousins Luella Smith (Scotland, PA) and Carol Kerwin (Phoenix, AZ), nephews Craig Havel (West Roxbury, MA), Peter Havel (Marion, MA) and wife Nancy and their children, Paul Havel and his wife Melissa and their children, Lynn Havel Buckley (Owings, MD) and her children. In addition, mourning his loss are the sons of his brother Charles: John of Canastota, NY and Henry of Indianapolis, IN. His passing was preceded by his parents Emily and Charles Havel and brothers Richard, Charles and Warren Havel.

Funeral Services will be at 9:00 am on Monday, March 26, 2011 at Prestonwood Baptist Church Chapel, 6801 W. Park Blvd., Plano, TX. Burial will follow at Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211 with complete military honors. In lieu of flowers, his family requests donations be made in his honor to Partners with Youth program at the MetroWest YMCA attn: PWY 280 Old Connecticut Path, Framingham MA 01701.
