AUBURN – Phillip A. St. Amand, 46, passed away at his home on Tuesday, May 3, 2016. He was born in Fayetteville, NC on November 5, 1969 the son of Joseph and Jeannette (Morin) St. Amand. When he had time to himself, he loved working on his cars, and anyone who has been to his house would know that his property is filled with his various projects. While involved with the military, Phil worked for the State of Maine as a mechanic where he did numerous jobs. Phil is survived by his wife, Giselle of Auburn; his daughter, Kayla of Gorham; his parents of Moravia, NY; his sister, Lisa and her husband Ike Swayze of Moravia, NY; and his service dog, Brandy who was his trusted companion. Giselle,
On behalf of myself and all of us at the VAST Program, we would like to send our deepest condolences to you and your family in this time of sadness. Phil's presence in our program was always such a joy to all of us. He was a regular that we looked forward to seeing each week. His big smile, his passion for archery, and his willingness to help all of us was infectious. He and Brandy always made us laugh - whether it was Brandy trying to eat the discs for disc golf, or playing with the bowling balls. Phil was always so patient. Phil will be sincerely missed by each and everyone of us.

Rest in Peace Phil. We'll miss you!

Sincerely,
Your friends from the Pineland Farms VAST Program.

I know Phil and Brandy from VAST. He was always kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. One of my favorite memories was bowling with him, Brandy was very interested in the bowling balls. We had a very good laugh when Brandy pounced on the balls. My thoughts are we you and your family!

I am so sorry for your family's loss. I served with SFC ST. Amand on his last deployment with the 619th TC in Iraq in 09-10. I served with him at the unit for most of my career up until after that last deployment. He was an excellent Soldier and Sergeant, not just in his platoon, but the whole Company; his intellect, compassion and professionalism are what I remember about him best. He will be truly missed by everyone. His old platoon leader from our last deployment, Captain Bury, also sends his condolences to your family as well. Again our hearts go out to your family, in this difficult time.

So sad to hear about Phil's passing. Giselle (my niece) is hurting really bad but she's strong and she will be ok with time. She was a great supporter of Phil and stood by his side at every moment through his challenges. I'm very proud of her. May Phil rest in peace.
