Phyllis A. Taylor, 92, of Lakewood Manor, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years The Reverend Preston J. Taylor. She is survived by her children, Preston J. Taylor, Jr. of Washington, D.C., Stephen P. Taylor of Mathews, Va., Pamela Taylor Eley of Virginia Beach, and Rebecca Taylor Armstrong of Chesterfield, Va.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Taylor was a graduate of the Westhampton College of the University of Richmond, and earned her Masters' Degree in Education from VCU; she taught elementary school in Richmond for 20 years; and was a member of First Baptist Church in Richmond since 1961.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd., where services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday. Interment in Westhampton Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Smile Train at smiletrain.org.

Pam, Becky, P.J., and Steve, We are praying for you and your families and trust God will carry you through this time of loss and sorrow. You were blessed indeed to have your mom with you for so many years. God has promised a sweet reunion in the future. I pray this truth will bring you comfort in the coming days.
