Phyllis Madeline Cannon, 84, of Staunton passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Envoy of Staunton. She was born in Richmond on October 4, 1931, a daughter of the late William M. Cannon and Maude Talley Cannon. Phyllis was the last surviving member of her family.
She was a lifelong member of Annex United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school. She leaves behind her beloved friend, Shirley LaFon and her church family and friends.
A celebration of life service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Annex United Methodist Church, 1570 New Hope Rd, Staunton, Virginia with Pastor Gayle Thornberry officiating. Phyllis was laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Richmond.
There will be no public viewing at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to Phillis' beloved church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Staunton Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
