Phyllis Mae Butcher, 87, of Maysville KY, died Friday November 2, 2012, at her home with her family by her side. She was born December 6, 1924 in Orangeburg KY to the late Oscar Bradley Gill and Mary Lucy Williams Gill. She was a loving Wife, Mom, Mamaw and Friend to many. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was the widow of James Ivan Butcher. They were happily married for 54 years. Phyllis is survived by two sons, Kent (Linda) Butcher of Maysville,Tom (Madge) Butcher of Maysville and one daughter, Cindy (Jeff) Thacker of Maysville. Nine grandchildren, Jason (Beth) Butcher, Heidi Butcher, Robbie (Joy) Butcher, Amanda (Troy) Nolder, Megan (Jack) Fite, Stephanie(Doug) Bellamy, Phillip Butcher, Luke Thacker, Andrew Thacker. 10 Great-Grandchildren, Ryan Nolder, Emma Nolder, Jack Ivan Fite, Jackson Butcher, Nate Butcher, Chris Butcher, Malchi Butcher, Will Griffith, Tori Griffith, and James Griffith. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Frank Gill. Phyllis had many close friends, who she loved dearly. She never met a stranger. It was important to her to make everyone feel special. She took the time everyday to tell her family and friends how much she loved them. Funeral services for Phyllis Butcher will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 1:00 PM Tuesday, November 6, 2012 with Bro. Lionel Smith and Bro. Jerry Muse officiating. Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason Butcher, Luke Thacker, Andrew Thacker, Robbie Butcher, Will Griffith and Jeff Thacker. Visitation will be held Tuesday at the church from 11 AM until the hour of the service. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Hope, 909 Kenton Station Drive, Maysville, Kentucky 41056. The arrangements are under the direction of the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home.
