Phyllis Elizabeth West
Proudly retired from M.S.U. Printing Department and loyal fan of Michigan State University Athletics, Phyllis has passed on to the REAL "Big House" in the sky to meet her maker. She was 88 years young living life to the fullest until infection took over her organs. She loved decorating her home for every season, including the newest Yankee Candle fragrance, scanning the Sunday papers for the best coupon sales looking forward to her next shopping trip, she loved to visit new places, take drives in the country, music, her kids, her grandkids, her great grandkids and yes, the MSU Spartans. Phyllis was married to her late husband Kenneth and will peacefully rejoin him with their late eldest daughter Gwen in the place Phyllis believed everything is good and well. She will be missed but her memories will live on through her remaining children; Rodney West (Sandy), Carolyn Brunson (Terry), Allan West (Robin), and Julie West; plus, her 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren who she was so proud of. We will celebrate her life on Monday October 15, 2012 with visitation at 10:00 am and memorial service at 11:00 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, Williamston Chapel at 205 E. Middle St., Williamston, 48895.

Mom, it's getting closer to the time that we will be celebrating. It is going to be a beautiful time. I have decorated just like you would with your favorite fall notations, I have put a cd together with some of your favorite music, and we had so much fun choosing pictures to share with your friends. I know you will want to wear a nice outfit with matching jewelry, and your favorite fragrance of Bath & Body. I want to come by your apartment to pick you up early like always so we don't have to hurry.....but..it saddens me that this time you will not be there. Only your sweet smell remains inside those walls. So the thoughts of your happiness from the past events will remain in my heart. For today I know you will be celebrating in spirit, and mom, please bring Gwen and dad to share your honor, I miss them too. See you soon. Your loving daughter.

Your daughter Julie West
Mom,today is your special day. I put your pictures up, I copied your favorite music to cd, I decorated with your favorite fall arrangements, us kids bought you some roses to make this celebration perfect for you.You know I wouldn't have it any other way. I know you will want to pick out something special to wear complete with jewelry, make up and your favorite Bath & Body fragrance. I am planning to pick you up at the apartment like always, in plenty of time so we don't have to hurry....Oh no.... I realize you are no longer at your apartment, you will not be with us in the flesh. The changes sadden me but you know I always resist change. Okay mom, I won't worry, I know you will be there in spirit. This is not something you would want to miss. And mom, will you please bring Gwen and Dad too? They will want to share in this event to honor you. I love you mom. God Bless you. See you soon. With love, Julie

To the family of Phyllis who lived with us at the Brook of Houghton Lake for a time. We are all pleased that we had the chance to know this wonderful lady and we have missed her since her move down state. The news of her passing saddens our hearts and we will miss her always. To the family, our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of sorrow. On behalf of my co-workers and the residents who knew her. Annie, Gary, Don, Julie, Michelle, Trish, Danielle, William and myself. May God take her into his loving arms and guide her safely home.
