Quitman Clinton, 79, of Lumberton, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2017 in the Pearl River County Nursing Home, Poplarville.
Mr. Clinton was born August 18, 1938 in Lamar County, Mississippi to George Clinton and Gertrude Clinton. He was a retired pipeliner with Hess Petroleum and a member of Little Black Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ann Clinton; and several siblings.
Family members include the three sons, Jeff Clinton, Jody Clinton, Jerry Clinton (Marie); two daughters, Janet Norton (Walter), Jennifer Jernigan (Kenneth); one brother, John Clinton; three sisters, Elsie Ball, Myra Ann Loflin, Mae Alice Robbins (Clyde); eleven grandchildren, Shellie Smith, Karlee Clinton, Harley Jernigan, Meagan Clinton, Jon Smith, Dakota Youngblood, Jacob Clinton, Jordan Clinton, Casey Clinton, Dylan De Rosia, Brandon Clinton; and seven great grandchildren, Addison, Wyle, Bryson, Memorie, Mason, Celeanah, and David.
Funeral services will be at Little Black Creek Baptist Church, 1284 Little Black Creek Road, Lumberton, MS, 39455 on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 10:00 am. Rev. Jesse Ladner will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and have visitation from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Tuesday at the church.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
