Rachel Cloutier, 90
Yarmouth, ME – Rachel (Ducharme) Cloutier, died peacefully after a period of declining health on January 3, 2013 at Brentwood Nursing and Rehabilitation in Yarmouth, Maine. She was surrounded by her loving family. A special thanks to the staff at Brentwood.
Rachel was born February 26, 1922 in Amesbury, Massachusetts and was the sixth child of Conrad and Alida (Fredette) Ducharme. She married Charles Cloutier on December 15th, 1945. As a homemaker, she raised three children in Amesbury with her husband. As a talented artist, Rachel was as creative with paint and an easel as she was with a sewing machine and fabric. In retirement, she spent many winters in Sarasota, Florida.
She leaves behind her son Donald Cloutier and his wife Ann of Exeter, NH; her daughter Denise Bean and her husband Douglas of Yarmouth, ME; her daughter Cheryl Wood and her husband Michael of Stowe, MA. She also leaves her grandchildren: Nicole Childs and her husband Chris, Corey Cloutier and his wife Christina, Kathryn and Philip Bean, Sophia and Jack Wood; her great-grandchildren Anna Childs, Evan and Andrew Cloutier. She was predeceased by her husband Charles who died in 2007.

Rachel was a lovely woman and neighbor. She was very kind and I enjoyed our visits and phone calls. She is at peace and with Charlie now. We miss her. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.

I only knew Rachel for about six weeks, but I grew attached to her. Even in her last days she conveyed a gentleness and a generosity of spirit. May I offer my heartfelt condolences to her family. John Sutherland, Beacon Hospice volunteer.
