EASTHAM – A graduate of Nauset Regional High School, Wheaton College and CCCC Nursing Program, Rachel excelled in virtually everything she endeavored, including but not limited to softball, soccer, swim team, dancing, skiing, figure skating, drawing, writing, piano and violin, as well as holding degrees in both psychology and nursing. With her kind and giving heart, Rachel loved nothing more than reaching out and helping others. She loved the lower Cape, especially fishing with her father and walking her favorite beach spots with her dog, Chloe. Rachel's engaging personality, sparkling eyes, sharp wit and infectious laughter touched all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Rachel is survived by her parents Rod Collins of Eastham, Patricia Scalzi of Santa Fe, JoAnn and Matt McKenna of Brewster and Marion Harper of Eastham, siblings Matt Collins, Erin Collins, Ben Collins, Lecia McKenna, Michelle Alcott and grandmother Paula Roda, beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and niece, scores of cherished friends from far and wide ... and Chloe Fancy Paws. A Memorial Celebration will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at 2pm at Skaket Beach Sunset Spot. The family requests that donations be made to the Cape Cod National Seashore and Animal Rescue League of Boston.
