Racine Joyce Craig, age 87, passed away March 11, 2014, at the Stanleytown Healthcare Center.

Born in Patrick County June 21, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Louie Washington Joyce and Susie Tuggle Joyce. Also preceding her in death was her husband of 44 years, Posey Roy Craig, sister, Edith Wray, and brothers, Curtis and Dolphus Joyce.

Racine was employed by Fieldcrest Mills for more than 30 years. She was a faithful member of Blackberry Baptist Church for over 60 years, where she sang in the choir, served as a Sunday school teacher, WMU president, VBS director, and in various other capacities.

She is survived by her daughter Phyllis Ramsey and son-in-law, Jimmy Ramsey, her son, Blaine Joyce Criag, five grandchildren, Melissa Ramsey Carter, Scott Ramsey, Michael Craig, Madison Craig Hailey Craig, three great-grandchildren, Bradley J. Carter, Reagan Ramsey, Reese Ramsey, sisters, Ilda Mitchell, Geneva Dillon, Nellie Terry (Carl), Bea Adams (David), Peggy Merriman (Moyer), and brothers, Bobby Joyce (Jean), Tommy Joyce (Emma Dean), and Ronnie Joyce.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 14, 2014, from 6:30 to 8:30 P.M. at Collins Funeral Home in Bassett, and other times at the home of her daughter, Phyllis Ramsey. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Blackberry Baptist Church with the Rev. Eric Kieselbach and the Rev. Dr. G. H. Vaughan officiating. Interment will follow in Old Center Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Blackberry Baptist Church or to Old Center Cemetery fund, c/o Mrs. Ann Martin, 2474 Stones Dairy Rd, Bassett, VA 24055.
