Ralph H. Blewitt, Jr., 86, of DuBois, passed away on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at DuBois Regional Medical Center. Born on January 1, 1924 in New Castle, PA, he was the son of the late Ralph H. and Alma (Dwyer) Blewitt, Sr. He graduated from New Castle High School and Clarion University and retired from Glenshaw Glass in 1984 as chief industrial engineer. Mr. Blewitt was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in DuBois. He was also a member of the Garfield Lodge #559 F. & A.M., Syrian Pittsburgh Shrine, Lions Club, VFW Post 813 and was an avid golfer. Ralph H. Blewitt, Jr., 86, of DuBois, passed away on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at DuBois Regional Medical Center.

Born on January 1, 1924 in New Castle, PA, he was the son of the late Ralph H. and Alma (Dwyer) Blewitt, Sr.

He graduated from New Castle High School and Clarion University and retired from Glenshaw Glass in 1984 as chief industrial engineer.

Mr. Blewitt was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in DuBois. He was also a member of the Garfield Lodge #559 F. & A.M., Syrian Pittsburgh Shrine, Lions Club, VFW Post 813 and was an avid golfer.

He was a veteran having served in the World War II as a Navy Corpsman at the naval hospital in Guam.

Mr. Blewitt is survived by his wife, Marjorie (Otte) Blewitt whom he married on April 9, 1949 at the First Lutheran Church in Pittsburgh, a son, Ralph H. Blewitt III and his wife, Judy, of Jamestown, a daughter, Marta L. Emmerich of DuBois, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Betty Hartshorne and her husband, Donald.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Blewitt.

Funeral services will be held at the Christ Lutheran Church in DuBois on Monday, May 24, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Kathrine Douglass officiating. Interment will be in Lakelawn Memorial Park in Reynoldsville.

Friends will be received at the Mohney-Yargar Funeral Chapel, Inc. on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Masonic Memorial Service will be held at 7 PM on Sunday by Garfield Lodge #559 F.& A.M. An additional viewing will be held at the church on Monday from 10:30 AM until the hour of services.
