Ralph C. Warner, Sr., 75, of Nelson, died Monday evening with his family around him, in the comfort of his home, overlooking the pond, after a period of declining health.

He was born across that pond in Nelson, on July 31, 1936, the son of Don and Grace (Towne) Warner and resided in Nelson his entire life. He attended local schools and while in school, then formally after, he began work for the NH Department of Transportation where he worked for 37 ½ years. He retired, due to health, in 1992. He worked hard at many different positions, for his entire life, and was proud of his career, but was most proud of his family, they were everything to him.

He married Beatrice M. Sprague on February 26, 1958, recently celebrating their 54th anniversary.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, going to yard sales to discover his latest finds to take home and restore, and loved his animals, anything from quails to cattle, some destined for the freezer, others making a home as a family pet. His greatest enjoyment and where he found most pleasure was from his family, whether being a father, grandfather and husband or having all his family and even friends over for Sunday meals, spending time with family was his crowning achievement.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years: Beatrice M. Warner of Nelson; two sons: Richard Warner of Winchester and Glenn Warner and his wife Hope of Keene; three daughters: Colleen Warner and her fiancé James Jenna of W. Chesterfield and twins Janet Warner and Jean Warner both of Nelson; seventeen grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two sons: Ralph C. Warner, Jr. and James Warner and a family friend that he loved as a daughter, Michele Auclair.
