Ramona Frosch 83, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2012. She was born in Indianapolis on September 30, 1928.She attended school # 58 and graduated from Howe H.S. in 1946. As a teenager, she enjoyed music on her 78rpm record collection of Frank Sinatra and the music of the big band era. 83, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2012. She was born in Indianapolis on September 30, 1928.She attended school # 58 and graduated from Howe H.S. in 1946. As a teenager, she enjoyed music on her 78rpm record collection of Frank Sinatra and the music of the big band era. She also liked to dance even teaching her 5 year old sister how to dance the jitter bug. In the 1940's and 1950's she worked in accounting for Truscon Steel Corporation and as bookkeeper/office manager for Ellis Construction Company. Ramona was an avid bowler and won many state and city awards and competed nationally. She was a member of the Indianapolis Women's Bowling Hall of Fame. She was also a Master Gardner. She enjoyed fishing for bass and hunting for mushrooms at her mother and step-father's home on Rocky Fork Lake. In the 1960's and 1970's she was secretary to Mr. Tousley of Tousley Construction Company and later as bookkeeper and corporate secretary at Tousley Bixler Construction Company.
Ramona was preceded in death by her father, Fred Frosch, mother, Zelma Kauffman and step-father, Chester Kauffman.
She was loved and is survived by daughter, Suzanne (Terry) Caldwell, granddaughter, Megan Caldwell, grandson, Ryan Caldwell, sister, Marlene Kries and step-sister, Joann (Mike) Etten. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as (3) great-nieces and a great-nephew.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday May 22, from 4-7 pm at Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary 2126 E. 71st St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Little Sisters of the Poor St. Augustine 2345 W. 86th St. at 11 am on Wednesday May 23, with calling one hour prior. All are welcome to join the family for lunch afterwards.
