A Memorial Service will be held at noon, Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Northampton Presbyterian Church, 1217 Todds Lane, Hampton, VA, with Pastor Don Neighbours officiating. Burial will be at 3 pm at Parklawn Memorial Park. A reception will be held at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Northampton Presbyterian as well.

Ramona was born Tuesday, September 8, 1936, to Edwin and Gussie Hill. All of her brothers, Bill, Gillis and Joe, have preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Robert K. Sleeper, and her daughters, Cindy Sparks and fiancée Patrick Gambill, and Suzanne Macecevic and husband Bill. She had five grandchildren: Charlotte Macecevic Shepard and husband Matt, Morgan Chandler Gargaro and her husband John, Rachel Alonso and husband James, William Macecevic, and Olivia Macecevic. She also had three great-grandchildern: Dorsey Goins, Salem Macecevic and Alice Gargaro.

She graduated High School in Pauls Valley, OK; attended Oklahoma State University; attended the first graduating classes at Thomas Nelson Community College; and finally, graduated with a Bachelors in Education at Old Dominion University.

During her life, she embraced life in so many ways and dared us all to reach out and dream. She was most proud of her community at church, her family, her volunteer work and the students that she taught. Although she suffered a long illness prior to her death, it did not diminish the fact that she was irreplaceable in the hearts of the people that knew her.
