Randall Stevens Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 30, 2012.

Randall Evan "Randy" Stevens, of The Woodlands, formerly of Powell, Ohio, died unexpectedly November 28, 2012, in New York City while on a business trip. He was 47.

A devoted husband and dedicated father who cherished his time spent with his family. A true friend to so many and was respected and loved by all the people he worked with.

A 1983 graduate of Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, Ohio, and a 1988 graduate of The Ohio State University with a B.A. in Political Science. Randy also served in the U.S. Army from 1985 to 1987 stationed in Frankfurt, Germany.

Randy was employed many years with Nationwide Insurance in Columbus, Ohio, Zurich Insurance in Schaumburg, IL and presently was Vice President of Talent Acquisition with Sun America Financial Group / AIG. He loved his work, traveling and being with people. He was an avid cyclist, gourmet cook, motor sports enthusiast and a die hard "Buckeye" Fan! Randy loved discussing current and world events and was always game for a good political debate.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lucinda Wolstenholme Stevens, whom he married June 26, 1993, in Columbus, Ohio. They have two beautiful and adoring daughters, Mackenzie, 16, and Gretchen, 13. His in-laws, Albert and Betty Wolstenholme of Ft. Myers, FL and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jeffrey and Sabrina Wolstenhome, nephew and niece Gabriel and Isabella Wolstenholme all of Chesapeake, VA.

Dear Lucinda. Today is May 23, 2013 and I just learned of Randy's passing. I am so sorry for your loss. I loved Randy. He and I just hit it off when we first met about some candidates he was trying to place with me. And as you know we became good friends later. I cannot express how sad this makes me feel for you and the kids. We are now all back in Columbus.

I had just sent an email to Randy as I had been on my bike last weekend on Seldom Seen Rd. and it made me think of you all. Please let me know if there is anything that I can do for you or the girls.

David Heringhaus.

Dear Family- I was just made aware of Randy's passing. Randy and I developed a friendship that went beyond the work we did together. Unique to others, we both traveled often for work and NYC was our major hub. He spoke so fondly about his family to me and how lucky he was to have you. I am so sorry and please look me up if you are ever in Boaton or NY. Also, if I can assist with college applications, my expertise, it would be my pleasure.

Lucy, Mackenzie, and Gretchen
We were so sad to hear of Randy's passing. You all have definately been in our thoughts and prayers. Randy was a great guy who I will think of every time I wear my orange Tennessee jacket that he made it home with I think from some golf outing that he so graciously gave to me. I know it wasn't exactly his preferred Buckeye Scarlet and Grey but I sure do like it! He will be missed! We hope to see you all this summer at the lake house.

Lucinda, MacKenzie and Gretchen, I cannot adequately express my sorrow as a result of Randy's death. Randy was so intelligent, funny and full of life. Even in high school Randy was impetuous, mischievous and fun loving. I will miss Randy's easy laugh, his generosity of spirit and his zest for life. I consider myself fortunate to have known him. He was like a brother to me and I loved him very much. I know how much he loved and was proud of his family.
