Randy Wolfgang Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 1, 2017.

Reverend Randy Lee Wolfgang, 60, of Birdsboro, Minister of Seyfert Wesleyan Church, passed away peacefully after a battle with cancer on Tuesday, August 1, 2017. He was the loving husband of Cynthia "Cindy" K. (Daniel) Wolfgang for 38 years. The couple married August 19, 1978.

Born in Allentown on December 11, 1956, Pastor Randy was a son of Reverend Leonard Wolfgang and the late Dolores (Fultz) Wolfgang.

Pastor Randy graduated from Kentucky Mountain Bible College in 1978. He loved to minister and his church members were family to him. Prior to pastoring at Seyfert, he pastored in Hammond, IN for eight years. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing and even got a Hole in One. He was an avid reader but his true joy was his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Cindy; Pastor Randy is survived by two children: Bethany K. (Wolfgang) Leisey and her husband, Darrin T. of Narvon and Daniel L. Wolfgang and his wife, Amanda S. of Elverson; four grandchildren: Sydney R., Callen J., Sadie M. and Addalynn G.; his father, Rev. Leonard Wolfgang and his wife, Ruby; a brother: Larry Wolfgang; three sisters: Wanda (Wolfgang) Speas, LaRae (Wolfgang) Daniels and Debbie (Wolfgang) Tomlian.

Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.

Services for Pastor Randy will be held in his church promptly at 11am on Friday, August 4, 2017 at Seyfert Wesleyan Church, 2 Maple Rd., Birdsboro, PA 19508. Family and friends will be received in Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink rd., Reading, PA 19606 on Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 6 to 8pm and again on Friday in the church at 9:30 am to 11 am. Interment will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reading.

So sorry to hear of Pastors passing. I do not get a newspaper and only found out on Saturday when my cousin Brenda told me. May GOD comfort all his family and loved ones.

Dearest Cindy,
It feels like yesterday that we were all at KMBI, nervous about our first parlor dates!! We were so young and could have never anticipated the awful fight we were both going to have with cancer. But, I praise God for the good years and the love you and Randy had. I pray the Lord will be near in the days ahead. Praying the Lord will help you sleep tonight. Randy's pain and struggle is over and he is safely in the arms of Jesus.

One of my many memories of Rev. Wolfgang is when he came into the hospital to see me. He was the first visitor to hold my daughter Kelly. He said to me," I never knew you were pregnant. I just thought you were heavy." We laughed.

Larry is gone too soon but did so much for the kingdom during his short time here. He is enjoying his eternal reward and hearing those words, "Well done good and faithful servant" now. He will never be forgotten for the great soldier of God that he was. God bless you and comfort you Cindy and family.

It was my privilege to know Raandy when he attended Mt Carmel High School. it was a privilege to know him as a young Christian and then see him develop into a wonderful example for other students. It was a privilege to be his class sponsor, as well. He , also, was a babysitter for my son, Kevin. I knew there was no reason to worry when Randy was in charge. My sympathy goes out to Cindy and family.

Randy always opened his home and his arms to welcome Sarah and me when we were able to visit or were even just passing through. I loved listening to his wisdom and humor mixed in a way that he would almost trick you into learning from him. He was a great man, a wonderful father and I know a terrific grandfather. Cindy, we will pray for God to comfort you every day and every night. We live you and your beautiful family God allowed you and Randy to have and to cherish. May the memories and even the flashes of pictures in your mind only make you more am more grateful for the 38 years you had together.

I've known Randy and Cindy since we were all teenagers together. Even then, Randy loved Jesus and had a heart for others. He also happened to be a lot of fun. Back then, Randy had trouble with his "r's." One of my favorite memories of Randy was when he and some other guys were practicing "We Three Kings" for a Christmas program. Randy ended up with the verse that begins "Myrrh is mine, its bitter perfume, Breathes...." Randy stopped right there and announced," I can't sing this verse." We all laughed, including him. Randy is one of those people who will make it easier for the rest of us to face death, knowing that he is already there to welcome us. I pray that God will be very close to Cindy and their children during this time.
