Ray Roy Cardwell passed away on Wednesday morning, June 1, 2011, at the age of 71. He was born on February 1, 1940, to Ray B. and Ruth Cardwell in Sinton, Texas. Ray Roy lived in the Taft area all his life. He was a graduate of Texas Tech University. He was a farmer and a member of Country Bible Church.

Ray Roy is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Beverly Cardwell.

He is survived by one daughter, Vicki Lynn Hanson of Taft, Texas; two grandsons, Zachary Benjamin Hanson of Houston, Texas and Tyler Jacob Hanson of Taft; one sister, Mae Nell Avery of Bandera, Texas; one brother, Sam Jeffery Cardwell of San Antonio, Texas; numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and a host of friends.

Funeral Services will be Friday, June 3, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Country Bible Church with Larry Mayo officiating. Burial will follow the service at Taft Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home, Taft.
