Ray Kelly Lloyd, 81, passed away Friday, December 7, 2012, in Colorado City, TX. His body will be cremated and his cremains will be inurned at a later date in the Texas State Veterans Cemetery, Abilene, TX under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory St.

Ray was born on November 5, 1931 to Francis G. and Odessa Pomeroy Lloyd in Front Royal, Virginia. He attended school and then joined the United States Air Force and served his country for 25 years, most of which was served abroad in Europe. Ray received a Purple Heart for his service during the Korean Conflict.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Francis and Odessa Lloyd.

Survivors include his sister, Wanda Lloyd Sites of Hawley; niece, Carla Sites Abney of Hawley; and nephews, Michael Sites of Hawley and Kelly Sites of Abilene.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America, 801 18th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20006.
