Raymond J. Renart, 84, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2016. He was born on September 9, 1932 in New City, New York, to the late Walter Renart and Amelia (Altmann) Renart.
Raymond attended Chestnut Grove School and Spring Valley High School. He served in the U.S. Army as a Private First Class from 1953 to 1956. Raymond was employed as a Plumber in the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local 373 for 50 years until his retirement. He was a volunteer fireman for Spring Valley Hook and Ladder Company #1 for over 30 years. He was a skilled craftsman and enjoyed spending time with his many friends, children and grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his brother Walter Henry Renart.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Mary (Kalkhuis) of Spring Valley, NY. He is lovingly remembered by his brother George and wife Delores of Goshen, NY, his sister-in-law Florence (Moore) Renart and his four children, Raymond Jr and wife Joanne of Cortland Manor, NY, Timothy and wife Beth of Warwick, NY, Thomas and wife Valerie of Manhattan, NY and Denise and husband David Harnett of Washington Township, NJ; five grandchildren, Paul, Brandie, Philip, Christopher Harnett and Patrick Harnett; many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
Visiting will be held on Sunday, October 16, from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 17, 10am at St. Joseph's Church in Spring Valley, followed by interment at St. Anthony's Cemetery in Nanuet.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Raymond's memory to United Hospice of Rockland, 11 Stokum Lane, New City, NY 10956.
