Raymond Lynn Stewart, Sr., 50, was suddenly taken from this life on August 3, 2017. He was born on June 19, 1967 to Halbert and Margarett (Smith) Stewart in Dallas, TX.
Raymond loved to sing and sounded a lot like Hank Williams, Jr.. He was a great storyteller, enjoyed making people laugh and was always the life of the party. He was definitely his Mama’s “blue eyed baby boy” and he loved being with his family, especially his granddaughter RayeLeigh. Raymond was just a country boy at heart and loved to go fishing with his sons. He was very proud of his daughter and referred to her as his rock. He would test her faith more than anyone, always challenging her; teaching her to be strong in her faith.
He was never scared to say what he thought and often would get a rise out of people to see how different people would act.
He taught a lot of people many things some were a little wild and he didn't love like most people.. but when he loved; he loved deeply. The last few days of his life he made several comments that Jesus was on his heart and that’s a great comfort to his family to know that he is now resting in the arms of Jesus.
Preceding him in death are his grandparents: Halbert and Mattie Stewart and Shorty and Era Beach.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children: Misti Perez and husband, Tony, Raymond Stewart, Jr. and Dakota Stewart; granddaughter RayeLeigh Perez; parents Halbert and Margarett Stewart; brother James Stewart, Sr. and wife, Kelly; nephew James Stewart, Jr.; niece Jamielynn Stewart; and a host of extended family members and friends that will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be Thursday, 6:00 - 8:00, August 10 at Roselawn Funeral Home in Seagoville. Funeral services will be 10:00 on Friday, August 11 at Roselawn, followed by interment at Roselawn Memorial Gardens where he will be laid to rest in the Garden of Prayer.
