Raymond George Barley, aged 76, went to be with his Lord on September 23, 2013. He was born on March 1, 1937 in Leelanau County, Michigan to Milford and Eunice (Bohlk) Barley. He was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant sister. Surviving are his wife Jo Ann Aenis whom he married on July 31, 1960, their children; Belinda Susan (David) Schuelke, Steven Edward (Aimee) Barley, Mary Kate (Jeff) Jenkins, grandchildren; Cassandra, Annabelle, Mariah Schuelke, Mitchell and Rebecca Potter, Micah Scott Jenkins, and his brother Robert Keith Barley. Raymond honorably served his country from 1960-1964 with The United States Army, and over the years Raymond was employed by Oleson's Food Stores, The City of Cadillac, Amway Corp., The City of Grand Rapids, and in retirement he also worked for the West Michigan Whitecaps. He was an active member of Messiah Lutheran Church. Please join his family at the church (2727 5 Mile Rd NE, Grand Rapids, Michigan) on Friday, September 27, 2013 for visitation from 10-11am, immediately followed by the Funeral Service at 11am with Pastor Tom Bartzsch officiating. Interment in Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Traverse City, Michigan. Please consider a memorial contribution in memory of Raymond to The American Diabetes Association or The Messiah Lutheran Church Organ Fund.
