Raymond Erasmo Sanchez, age 69, died January 3, 2012 in Salt Lake City, following a hard fought battle with Heart Disease. He was born May 30, 1942 in Dulce, New Mexico to Florencio (Cisco) Sanchez and Rebecca Salazar Sanchez. He was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Army . He attended East Carbon High School and earned an Associate's Degree from College of Eastern Utah. He married Marjorie Crosby November 3, 1990 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He worked for Univac, IML and the Utah Department of Transportation. He was a draftsmen and Purchasing Tech for the state and loved interacting with his co-workers.

Raymond had an awesome, extraordinary, witty personality that drew in his friends, family and work associates and brought laughter to all. He was a master of giving people nicknames and making people happy, it was his nature. He was loyal, honest and kind. He encouraged his children and grandchildren to get an education and to stand upright in this amazing country we live in today. He loved traveling, especially to visit his relatives in New Mexico and Colorado whom he loved so much. He had a passion and joy of being on the stream and was an avid fisherman who loved to teach his grandchildren the technique. He enjoyed being in the mountains camping with family and grandchildren where he could listen to them laugh and giggle as the fish were caught. He would say they were his little river otters.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Marjorie and his children: Shelly (Glen) deJong, Rebecca (Mark) Devenport, Shane Gibson, Lance (Teresa) Gibson, Matthew (Arianna) Gibson. Grandchildren: Hyrum, Ruthie, Lily, Cheyenne, Ashley, Braden, Mikayla, Zachary, Ryan and Alexis, brother Florentino Sanchez, sisters Betty Peterson and Becky (Rean "Max") Vandongen. He also had many nieces and nephews that he loved. Proceeded in death by both parents.
