One of his favorite times of the year was his family's annual summer vacation at Lake George, in the Adirondacks. He has requested that his ashes be scattered there.
He is survived by his ex-wife Naomi Reinitz Saxe, of Rye Brook, New York; his daughters, Amanda, Abigail, and Rachel; his sister Emily Saxe Nydam of Wellesley, Massachusetts; and his mother JoAn Teetor Marder of Tucson, Arizona. Although I lost touch with Ray after High School, I remember many great times on and off the drum line together. Ray had a wonderful sense of humor, a healthy questioning of authority, and a great capacity for adventure that will continue to inspire. I offer my condolences to all his family and friends at this time. ..and peace to you, Ray. “The drum beats out of time…”
