Regina Lee Diego Davis passed away peacefully Friday, October 5, 2012 at her home. She is preceded in death by her mother: Lucille Laney Raab; her father: Francisco Duenas Diego; a stepfather: William Raab, Jr.; and a brother: Wyman Rentz.
She was born in San Francisco, California and has resided in Brunswick for the past 49 years. Regina attended Glynn Academy High School and was self-employed for the past 25 years. She was past president twice for the Brunswick Junior Chamber of Commerce and Region Director for the Georgia Junior Chamber of Commerce. She was also a member of Southside Baptist Church for numerous years and a member and treasurer for Southern Riders Association.
During her life in Brunswick, Regina helped establish the first St. Jude's Radiothon and coordinated Cruising for St. Jude's. She also helped to bring back the Christmas Parade in Brunswick. She had been active with numerous other charities such as Cystic Fibrosis Triathlon, Muscular Dystrophy and the Special Olympics. In her younger days she was an avid athlete in softball, track and fields, as well as a motorcycle enthusiast. Regina lived life to the fullest.
She is survived by her husband: Rusty Davis; a daughter: Christy Lewis (Greg); step daughter: Heather Davis and a grandson: Christopher Lewis; seven sisters: Donna Venzel, Maryann Beaver, Kathy Hough, Lynn Caudell, Tina Babauta (Tony), Jeannie Tallbot (Jerry), and Karen Manibusan (Jary); eight brothers: Larry Woodward, Kenny Woodward (Wanda), Billy Raab, David Raab, Glen Massen (Kim), Frank Diego (Gina), Eibe Diego (Paula) and Pat Diego (Jenifer). She is also survived by 20 nieces: Martha Hartzog, Tammy Hartzog, Lisa Hartzog, Katrina Groover, Tammy Woodward, Vanessa Babauta, Brianna Babauta, Corina Manibusan, Jessica Caudell, Amanda Diego, Candayce Diego, Valerie Diego, Franchesca White, Meaghan Rentz, Caitlin Rentz, Nora Bowman, Helen Autry, Serena Knight and Jaryce Manibusan; 20 nephews: James Hartzog, Randy Woodward, Bill Beaver, James Beaver, Chuck Grover, John Hugh, Jeff Hugh, Josh Caudell, Jeremy Caudell, Scotty Masses, Christ White, Jaryd Manibusan, Jacob Manibusan, Dane Diego, Bugsby Diego, Brandon Diego, Cole Diego, Alan Raab, Morgan Pate, Ryan Griffis, Wayne Woodward and Colby Smith; several grandnieces and nephew, her special mention of lifelong friend: Mary Frances Lupo and her companions during her illness: Cheryl Watkins and Michelle Voker.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. The service will begin with a memorial ride at 6:00PM from Southern Riders Club House to Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. The service will be followed by a celebration of Regina's life at Southern Riders Clubhouse on Old Jesup Road.
