Reinhold Vela Gutierrez, age 89, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones in Houston, TX. on Friday, September 8, 2017. He was born on May 30, 1928 in San Buena Ventura, Mexico to Reinhold Ancira Gutierrez and Maria Luisa Vela Rodriguez. Reinhold attended school in Mexico where he went on to have many professions after graduating preparatory school. He was very proud to have been a telegraph operator at age 17 and was quickly promoted to manager and traveled around Mexico as such. He then went on to hold several other managerial positions that he loved, including regional manager of the local Sears and Roebuck. He met the love of his life Rosa Maria Galindo at age 30 and they married in 1959 after a beautiful courtship. Ten years later, they moved to Houston with their three children. In Houston, he worked hard to become a popular Disc Jockey on the local Spanish format radio station KLVL. He loved being a DJ and meeting people and taking their song requests. He was also the manager of one of the first Spanish movie theaters in Houston, Santa Rosa Theater. He had an awesome and unique voice and outgoing personality which enabled him to also serve as Master of Ceremonies for popular events that brought famous celebrities from Mexico to meet their fans in the theater. In retirement, he loved listening to his music collection and watching movies and his favorite Novelas. His main love in life however, was being a great father to his four children. And later being the best grandfather to his eight grandchildren. He is survived by the mother of his children Rosa Maria Galindo and three of their children, Ana Luisa and husband Enrique Resendez, Rick and wife Joanne, and Andres and wife Analisa; eight grandchildren, Nubia, Evelyn, Adolfo, Krystal, Ricky, Michael, Alondra, and Bernadette, and four great grandchildren, Nadine, Isabelle, Lilly, and Layla. He is preceded in death by his beloved son Reinhold Gutierrez III in 2010, his brother Ivan Gutierrez, mother Maria Luisa Vela Gutierrez, and father Reinhold Gutierrez. They are now together again in Heaven. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Crespo Funeral Home, 2516 Navigation Blvd., Houston. The Gutierrez family would like to extend our gratitude to all the staff at Solera Nursing Home, Seasons Hospice, and to Methodist West Hospital that helped Reinhold with loving care.

Dear Andres,
Hearing about your loss has deeply saddened me, but I know that this is far from what you are going through right now. When we lose a loved one here on earth, we gain an angel in heaven that watches over us. May you take comfort in knowing that you have an angel to watch over you now. We extend our most sincere condolences to you and your family.
