Reuben E. "Gene" Krigbaum, age 94, of Peoria, passed away Friday, March 31, 2017 at 8:55 a.m. at the OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born Feb. 20, 1923 in Hannibal, MO to Ed and Leah (Peterson) Krigbaum. He married Joann Tuttle on July 1, 1950 in East Peoria. She survives along with three daughters: Kim (Dan) Schilling of Edwards, Kari (Ron) Potter of Morton, Kriste (Ed) Eden of Brimfield, one son-in-law, Tom Hartter of Washington, three grandchildren: Dana, Benjamin, Adam, and three great-grandchildren: Haley, Beck and Ava.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Kelly Hartter, one twin sister, and one brother.
Gene was a WWII Navy Veteran. He was a Carpenter and retired from the Roan Maintenance Department for Fondulac Township. He was a member of the Peoria Elks Club.
Graveside services with Military Rites will be Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria. Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria is in charge of arrangements.
