Mr. Reuel B. Buttram, 89, of Atlanta died Friday, the 23rd of August, 2013. Mr. Buttram was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Louise H. Buttram in 1988. A veteran of WWII he served in the U. S. Army in the European Theatre attaining the rank Second Lieutenant. After WWII he continued to serve his country in the Reserves attaining the rank Captain. Mr. Buttram was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson College of Law. He was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1948 and joined the Atlanta Claims Association that same year serving as President in 1963. Mr. Buttram retired from The London Agency in 1989 where he was Senior Vice President of Claims. Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Gayle and Dan Carlson of Tampa, FL; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Diana Buttram of Ellijay; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and wife, Stella M. Buttram. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, the 27th of August at one o'clock at Patterson's Arlington Chapel. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park. Friends are cordially invited to visit with the family Tuesday from twelve o'clock noon until the hour of service at H. M. Patterson & Son Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Road, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.

Expressing my appreciation for Reuel's professional claims assistance and guidance during our years at the London Agency, which provided a solid foundation as the company grew into Westchester Specialty and ACE Westchester.
