Revati Rawal, of Austin, passed away at home surrounded by family on April 12th, 2014 at the age of 82. Her positive outlook on life and useful advice will be deeply missed by close friends and family. She had the unique ability to connect with and develop meaningful bonds with many in our community. Revatiben was well known among Vishal's friends and she always cherished their company.

Revatiben was the second child born to Trambaklal and Vijayaben Joshi on June 25th, 1931 in Kampala, Uganda. From a young age, she enjoyed reading numerous Hindi scriptures, especially the Bhagvad Gita. At the tender age of 20 she married Anantrai Rawal, the eldest son of Maganlal and Lakshmiben Rawal.

As the eldest daughter-in-law, Revatiben assumed responsibility of the entire Rawal household. From the earliest days she was an excellent cook and loved to prepare meals for the family. Alongside her husband, she raised the younger family members and had a great influence in their upbringing.

Over the course of her life she lived in three countries: Uganda, Kenya, and the United States. Since 2002, She lived with her youngest daughter's (Vibha) family in Austin, Texas. She enjoyed doting on the family and looked forward to visits from her other two daughters Devyani and Pragna. She created and nurtured strong bonds with all of her grandchildren. She had a heart of gold and will be remembered for her genial nature, delicious cooking, elegance, and positive outlook in life. Revatiben will be missed dearly.

She is survived by three beautiful daughters and sons-in-law: Devyani & Jagdish Vyas, Pragna & Umesh Dave, and Vibha & Ashvin Patel. They in turn blessed her with five grandchildren: Parin, Sheena, Vishal, Ronak, and Milan.
