Rev. William "David" O'Neal, 52, passed away at his residence on Saturday Aug. 31, 2013. Born on July 1, 1961 to David and Ruby O'Neal, David grew up in Jesup, Ga. as the lone brother of two loving sisters: Bonnie and Debbie. David was well known as a teenager for being the only child in school to wear a suit on a day-to-day basis due to the fact that he was employed as a mortician at Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home. Rev. William "David" O'Neal, 52, passed away at his residence on Saturday Aug. 31, 2013.

Born on July 1, 1961 to David and Ruby O'Neal, David grew up in Jesup, Ga. as the lone brother of two loving sisters: Bonnie and Debbie.

David was well known as a teenager for being the only child in school to wear a suit on a day-to-day basis due to the fact that he was employed as a mortician at Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home.

David was married to his childhood sweetheart Valencia (Marr) in November, 1979.

David continued his career in the funeral service until 1988 when he was accepted into the police academy per the Brunswick Police Dept. and moved to the Golden Isles. Once he began his illustrious career in law enforcement, he was quickly promoted up the ranks working the "street", undercover with the Metro-Drug Enforcement, Public Affairs, and F.T.O. while picking up several awards and accommodations along the way.

David played a pivotal role in organizing and overseeing several events and programs including: Citizen's Police Academy, the G.R.E.A.T. Program, the Brunswick Police Officers Memorial, and the Police Explorer Program, just to name a few.
David was known for his integrity, selflessness, professionalism, good heart and as a longtime member of Abundant Life Fellowship Church of God, David was best known for his spiritual walk.

Until his passing, he was employed as the GB-911 director for Glynn County.

A loving husband and father of four, David was a proud family man, he was a leader by example to all that knew him.

David's most recent accomplishment came on Aug. 29, 2013 when he was presented with a letter from the administrative bishop of South Ga. Church of God state office granting him his ministerial diploma which was presented by Rev. Bobby Moore, Rev. George Moxley and several deacons, friends, and family members in a ceremony at his home.

David O'Neal is survived by his wife, Valencia O'Neal, four children, David O'Neal of Darien, Tasha O'Neal of Brunswick, Bethany Anderson of Brunswick, and Logan O'Neal of Arizona, sister, Debbie Moxley of Jesup, several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

David is preceded in death by his parents, David and Ruby O'Neal, sister Bonnie Sheffield, and beloved nephew, Travis Moxley.

Funeral services will be held Mon. Sept 2nd at Abundant Life Fellowship at 11:00 AM with Pastor Bobby Moore and Rev. John O'Neal officiating. Interment will follow the service at Sunset Cemetery in Jesup, Ga.

Visitation was held Sunday, September 01, 2013 from 6-8PM at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, Brunswick, Georgia and Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home, Jesup Georgia.
