Richard C. Stoddard, 82, passed away November 27, 2016 after a long illness. He was a retired locomotive engineer for Union Pacific Railroad with more than 40 years of service and a member of Hope Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Floy Stewart Stoddard. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Bartine Stoddard; daughters, Penny (David) Ulm and Polly Bowers; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and two sisters, Judy Buckner and Susan Isenburg.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Memphis Funeral Home from 1-2 p.m., with services conducted at 2 p.m. Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis.
In lieu of flowers gifts in memory of Mr. Stoddard may be offered to the American Cancer Society.

Richard, you will be missed! You were a man of honor, integrity and above all strength and kindness. I am blessed to have known you as my brother-in-law. Thank you for loving my sister, my parents and my family as you did. You were always there for anyone who needed you. Now God needs you and has called you home. Love you always!
