Lieutenant Colonel Richard H. Bourrie, USA, Ret, age 82, of Roswell, GA passed away on January 7, 2018. Richard was born on January 5, 1936 in Cheboygan, MI to the late Hector and Elizabeth Bourrie. After graduating from Cheboygan High School, Richard joined the Army National Guard. He retired honorably as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1996. After his retirement, Richard started his own business, Highland Plumbing. He was a devoted family man. Richard enjoyed football and was an avid fan of the Georgia Bulldogs. He will be immensely missed by his family and friends. Richard is survived by his sons, Richard Bourrie, Jr and Joseph Bourrie (Robin); daughter, Melissa Williamson (Damon); grandchildren, Richard Bourrie III, John Henry Bourrie, Robbie Bourrie, Brandon Bourrie, Hunter Williamson, Ansley Williamson and Tate Williamson; great-grandson, Carson Bourrie and 1 on the way; brother, Gregory Bourrie; and sister, JoAnne Harrison. A memorial service will be on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 1:00pm in the chapel of Woodstock Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will follow at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Richard's memory to the Wounded Warriors Project, www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
