Richard (Dick) N. Miller
December 7, 1938 - September 14, 2016
Richard (Dick) Miller of Redding CA passed peacefully at home on September 14, 2016 at the age of 77. He was the only child of Wynona and Kenneth Miller of Redding CA. Richard is preceded in death by his wife of 51 years Carolyn Miller. Richard is survived by his 3 children Debbie Caton, Doug Miller, Dina Crouse and their families.
Richard had a generous heart and a quick wit. He worked for the US Postal Service and retired after 31 years of service. He enjoyed taking his grandchildren Tiffany, Jordan and Zach to the lake. He enjoyed photography and was known as the photographer at many friend and family events. In later years, he put down the camera and enjoyed "making saw dust" in creating his Miller Made wood yard art projects that decorate the lawns of his friends and family for nearly every holiday.
The family would like to thank those that assisted in helping with Richard's care, so he could continue to live at home.
Services are planned for Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 2pm at the Lawncrest Chapel in Redding, CA.

Dick, Carolyn and family have been long-time friends of mine and my family dating back to the mid 60's. Doug Miller and my son Carl are the same age and attended school K thru 12 and then attended UC Davis together and both graduating. Dick & Carolyn are perfect examples of what America is all about, raising 3 children with all being assets and not liabilities to this community and country. A friend said it best when my Dad died years ago when he said: "Why Do All The Good Guys Have To Die"?
