Richard Eugene Ackman, born August 10, 1927, died Sunday April 20, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Ackman, his parents Harry and Lucy Ackman, a brother Harry Ackman, Jr., and a granddaughter, Kristy Nath. He is survived by his two daughters Terri and husband Leon Nath of PA and Patricia Vukich of AZ, 5 grandchildren, Jennifer Vukich of AZ, Jason Vukich of AZ, Richard Nath and wife Tracy of TX, Jonathan Nath and wife Anna of PA, and Leah Ochs and husband Matthew of PA. He has 8 great grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ where he held the office of a deacon. ...
Richard Eugene Ackman, born August 10, 1927, died Sunday April 20, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Ackman, his parents Harry and Lucy Ackman, a brother Harry Ackman, Jr., and a granddaughter, Kristy Nath. He is survived by his two daughters Terri and husband Leon Nath of PA and Patricia Vukich of AZ, 5 grandchildren, Jennifer Vukich of AZ, Jason Vukich of AZ, Richard Nath and wife Tracy of TX, Jonathan Nath and wife Anna of PA, and Leah Ochs and husband Matthew of PA. He has 8 great grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ where he held the office of a deacon. Dick had various jobs but the one he really enjoyed was being Sports Editor of the Daily Herald in Monongahela. He belonged to Company A 28th Division during WWII and Korea. Also, he's a member of the Arizona American Legion. In 1973 he and his wife moved to Arizona and worked on the Salt River Pima Maricopa Reservation.

A service will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 12:00 PM with visitation one hour prior to service time at Green Acres Chapel of Light, 401 N. Hayden Road, Scottsdale, Arizona. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to The Church of Jesus Christ, 3815 East Broadway Road, Mesa, AZ 85206.
