Richard Kern Archibald, 93, formerly of Terre Haute, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2013, in Winter Park, FL. He was born on March 28, 1920, in Terre Haute to William Alexander and Emma (Kern) Archibald. He graduated from Wiley High School in 1939. Within two years of graduating high school., he started a career selling glass, building construction and home improvement materials, that continued until his retirement at age 72. He joined the Freemasons in 1946 and then the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite in 1954. Richard enjoyed bowling, golf, baseball and football. Richard Kern Archibald, 93, formerly of Terre Haute, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2013, in Winter Park, FL. He was born on March 28, 1920, in Terre Haute to William Alexander and Emma (Kern) Archibald. He graduated from Wiley High School in 1939. Within two years of graduating high school., he started a career selling glass, building construction and home improvement materials, that continued until his retirement at age 72. He joined the Freemasons in 1946 and then the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite in 1954. Richard enjoyed bowling, golf, baseball and football. He liked to fish, woodwork, do home repair projects and travel in his spare time.

Richard is survived by his wife Florence Archibald, and a son, Jay Archibald, both of California, and his sister Luella (Archibald) Jarvis of Terre Haute.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Donald William Archibald, a sister, Barbara (Archibald) Cottom, and a daughter, Gay Archibald.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 18 at Roselawn Memorial Park with Pastor Kyle Andrews officiating. Roselawn Funeral Home assisted with the arrangements.
