Dick was born in Brooklyn, New York on May 21,1933. Richard's parents immigrated to the United States in 1923 from Poland; he was the first of his family to be a natural born citizen of the United States. He graduated from Fort Hamilton High School in 1950 and shortly thereafter moved to Miami with his parents. He began serving in the US Army Infantry in Germany in 1953 and upon being discharged in 1955, returned to Miami to pursue a BSEE Degree at the University of Miami. His engineering career began at Radiation (Harris Corp) in Melbourne in 1959. His career afforded him the opportunity to live in San Diego, CA; Colorado Springs, CO and Maunawili, HI. Upon retirement in 1987 from Mitre Corporation, he relocated to Sarasota FL. where he met and married Evelyn Ann Erwin in 1991. Richard was an avid Miami Dolphins fan and enjoyed many years pursuing his love of snorkeling and fishing in both Hawaii and the Florida Keys where he and Evelyn lived before returning to Melbourne in 1997. He now joins in eternity those who have preceeded him; his parents Anna and Antoni Borysiewicz, brother Edward Borysiewicz, first wife Ann Margaret Dean Borysiewicz and daughter Diane Lynn Borysiewicz. Along with his wife, Evelyn, he is survived by his sons Dean Michael and Richard Borysiewicz, three stepsons John, Steve and Tim Erwin and children, two stepdaughters Julie Erwin and Lisa Cerda, husband Jose and their children, as well as sister-in-law Irene Borysiewicz and nephew Edward, Jr. and his wife Gail. Friends and family are encouraged to forward any donations they wish to give in Dick's name to Health First Hospice in Melbourne FL in lieu of flowers.
