Richard T. Braun Funeral mass for Richard (Nick) T. Braun, 79 of Chesterfield, MO and Lake Conroe, Texas will be held 9 A.M Monday, December 19, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Conroe Texas with cousin Monsignor Jack Dinkins and Father Philip Wilhite officiating. Graveside service at Oak Grove Cemetery, Nacogdoches Texas at 2 p.m. conducted by Father Roland from Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Nick Braun was born in Pt. Nick Braun was born in Pt. Arthur Texas, March 31, 1932 to Richard Theodore Braun and Mary Martha Lawless. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and entered the University of Notre Dame, his father's alma mate, on a Naval scholarship. There, he received a BS degree in Commerce in 1954 and was a member of the Naval ROTC. At graduation, he entered flight training in Pensacola Florida and was stationed at Boca Chita Naval Base in Key West and later at Cecil Field in Jacksonville Florida, where he was an all-weather jet fighter pilot in squadron VF31, flying the F3H Demon. Lt. Braun was discharged in 1958.

Nick married Starr Davis from Nacogdoches on July 28, 1956. He worked in Dallas Texas for Olin-Matheison Chemical Corp. as a regional manager of the Aluminum Division and moved to St. Louis when that division was bought by Conalco, later Consolidated Aluminum, where he became a Corporate Vice-President and worked until retirement.

After retirement, Nick worked a decade on the Board of Environ care of Salt Lake City, Utah. His hobbies were sailing, model airplane building, and was a avid football fan.

Surviving Nick are his wife Starr, daughters Elizabeth Starr Huon of St. Louis MO, Helen Martha McFerron of Branson MO, Claire Nicole Noot of Houston TX, and Son Richard Braun III of The Woodlands TX, one sister Gretchen Elizabeth (Gay) Stewart of Houston TX, ten grandchildren: Pierre Huon, Benoit Huon, Ashley Noot Barnett, Lindsay Noot Wade, Marie-Starr Houn, Mattieu Huon, James McFerron, Danielle Noot, Paul McFerron, and Luke McFerron. In Houston TX, he is survived by five nieces and five nephews. Another sister, Mary McSherry, preceded him in death
