Richard Francis Browning, 95, of Southlake, TX and formerly of Grapevine, TX; Tilton, NH and Marlborough, MA, died Sunday, May 11, 2014.  He and Mary A. Owens were married for 54 years.  Born February 14, 1919 in Marlborough, MA, he was the son of the late Henry and Josephine Browning.  He graduated from Marlborough High School and Capital ...

Richard Francis Browning, 95, of Southlake, TX and formerly of Grapevine, TX; Tilton, NH and Marlborough, MA, died Sunday, May 11, 2014.  He and Mary A. Owens were married for 54 years.  Born February 14, 1919 in Marlborough, MA, he was the son of the late Henry and Josephine Browning.  He graduated from Marlborough High School and Capital Radio Institute Washington DC.  Richard joined the Army Air Force and became a Pilot;  and as a 1st Lieutenant, flew the B-25 Bomber in the South Pacific during WWII (125 missions).  Upon his return, he and his brother Weston founded Browning Brothers Builders in Northborough, MA.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marlborough and served in many areas of the church ( Sunday School teacher, Superintendent, Deacon and Chairman of Deacons).  He and his wife cared for foster children from 1962-1968, two of which remain with them.  They adopted three children.  In 1970, the family moved to Tilton, NH.  He was a member of Central Baptist Church and attended Calvary independent Baptist Church.  He was actively involved in his children's sports and activities as well as coaching the Tilton-Northfield Lassie League.  Additionally, the family received several exchange students from around the world.  In 2000, he and his wife moved to Grapevine, TX where they became members of the First Baptist Church Grapevine.  He is survived by his wife, Mary; and children, Karen Parks, Canton, MA, Darryl Browning, Rosehill, KS, Julie Browning, Santiago, Chile, Janet Bomboy, Southlake, TX; grandchildren, Jason Parks, Angela Howard, Cherish Taylor, Joshua Motles, Briana Motles, Evan Bomboy, Daniel Motles, Hailey Browning, Carver Bomboy, Richard Browning, Genevieve Browning and seven great-grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held at First Haptist Church Grapevine on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at 10:30am.  Burial will be at Dallas Fort-Worth National Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be sent to Winnisquam Regional Babe Ruth Softball League: PO Box 432, Tilton, NH 03276.  Richards Kindness will be lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
