From almost the day I arrived at St. Marys I considered Richie to be he most courageous of my classmates . That opinion was established when after our long walk up to PIne Hill for freshman football practice I watched this smallest of our lineman, at right guard I believe, block the bigger guy in front of him then run down the filed in front of the runner and block somebody else---and obviously think nothing of it.

I will never forget that display of courage and determination to give his very best to the challenge at hand. He was an inspiration to me. I am not surprise to see him pictured in a Marine uniform with that same expression of determination.

To all who loved him may the good memories that now bring pain soon return to their rightful "job description" for when they do he will come back to you.

Dear Dick,

Thanks for your willingness to put your body and your life on the line for others in football, the Marines and in everything you ever did. It was great to sit with you at last year's Reunion dinner and share stories of our victory over the '61 combined Lynn Lions and our times in Vietnam. My thanks to our classmates who made that Reunion possible. Best wishes to Carolyn and the family you both created.
