Richard P. Delarosa, Jr. passed away Friday, November 1 at the age of 89. A native of New Orleans. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Louis Delarosa, his beloved wife Audrine Bringol Delarosa, his first wife Marcella Delarosa, and son Richard Delarosa III. He is survived by his stepdaughters Dianne Bringol Foster (Herschel), Melinda Bringol Leblanc (Darrel), step granddaughter Kristen Schexnayder Sagona (Nick) and step great grandson Alex Sagona, as well as a niece, Margret Ann Delarosa, and a nephew, Robert Louis Delarosa, Jr. He was the great uncle of Mathew and Sara Delarosa.

Richard was a proud Marine and member of VFW Post 3267. Before retiring as the head carpenter at IMTT he was a self employed contractor. Richard was an usher at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, a member of several bowling leagues and an avid LSU fan.


Friends and family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Thursday November 7th at 11am in the chapel of Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10am and continue until Mass time. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Metairie Cemetery.

Richard was a great man. He helped me get my start on the job I have today. He was a good friend ,He always wanted to help people. Everyone at IMTT liked him. I have some old tools he gave me when we worked together that I will always keep & remember him by. Heaven is a better place with him there. I will keep him & his famly in my prayers.

We were bowling buddies of Richard, such a fine gentleman. We also had the pleasure of meeting his lovely wife Audrine, on Friday mornings, when we would bowl.Our Condolences from

Richard was a great fellow. We will keep him in our prayers. You have our sympathy. My husband has a doctors appointment in the morning and I have one also. If possible we'll try to make Richard's wake between the appointments
