Obituary

Richard Dembinski, age 88, of Stinnett, WI, passed away on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Hayward Area Memorial Hospital. Richard Dembinski was born in South Milwaukee, WI the son of Barney and Rose (Soufka) Dembinski. He attended St. John's Catholic School in South Milwaukee. He went to work at an early age in a broom factory and then became a ship fitter at a ship yard. Richard joined the U.S. Army on February 19, 1943 and served as an MP while being stationed in China during WWII. Richard was honored with the Victory Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with 2 Bronze Battle Stars, 4 overseas Service Bars and the Good Conduct Medal....
Richard Dembinski, age 88, of Stinnett, WI, passed away on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Hayward Area Memorial Hospital.

Richard Dembinski was born in South Milwaukee, WI the son of Barney and Rose (Soufka) Dembinski. He attended St. John's Catholic School in South Milwaukee. He went to work at an early age in a broom factory and then became a ship fitter at a ship yard. Richard joined the U.S. Army on February 19, 1943 and served as an MP while being stationed in China during WWII. Richard was honored with the Victory Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with 2 Bronze Battle Stars, 4 overseas Service Bars and the Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged on January 8, 1946. He returned to Milwaukee where he went to work at Roundy's food warehouse before starting with Kyle-McGraw-Edison where he did final assembly & testing of transformers. On September 7, 1954 Richard was joined in marriage to Anita Alice Wood in Port Arthur, Ontario. In 1982 Richard Purchased a seven apartment complex with a corner bar called Sports Pub. He operated this business with his wife & sons until 1992. Richard moved to Stinnett, WI where he enjoyed fishing and doing remodeling work. He was an active member of the St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Stanberry, WI.

Richard is survived by his two sons, Tom "Lava" Dembinski of Hayward, WI, Bob (Pam) Dembinski of Spooner, WI; one granddaughter, Delaney Dembinski of South Milwaukee, WI; many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Anita; and four sisters and two brothers.

In Lieu of flowers the family respectfully asks that memorials be given to the Wounded Warriors project.
