Richard A. Ferrante

April 6, 1940 - August 29, 2014

Richard A. Ferrante age 74, of Las Vegas, passed away Friday, August 29, 2014 in Las Vegas. Born April 6, 1940 in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania he lived in New Castle, Pennsylvania before moving to Las Vegas in 1984. He had an Associates degree in mechanical engineering from Youngstown State University and was part of the team of engineers that traveled to New York to develop the first luggage carousel. Mr. Ferrante was the retired Co-Owner and Operator of UPS Store #135 in Las Vegas. He collected guns and was a proud member of the NRA. He was preceded in death by his father, Dominic. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Barbara (nee DeGennaro), daughter Melissa Ferrante and son Correy Ferrante; grandchildren: Kenny, Kenisha and Deion Jackson, mother Mary Ferrante (nee Barry) and sister Marlene Durr. A Memorial Service Celebrating the Life of Richard will be held at 2pm, Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., Las Vegas. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA, 22312.
